Energy Transition: Supporting low-emission energy industries to achieve climate targets in the Dominican Republic
In the Dominican Republic, energy production is currently based on fossil resources – and it accounts for one third of national greenhouse gas emissions. The project supports the transformation of the energy sector, by accelerating approval procedures and developing financing mechanisms to encourage investment in renewable energies. The preparation of mitigation actions and the implementation of the NDC in the energy sector are also supported, including reliable measuring, reporting and verification mechanisms for monitoring purposes.
