As part of From Farm to Fork project (CAP by its acronym in Spanish), which is being implemented in Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic, tools have been developed to promote the participation of key stakeholders in agrifood value chains in the conservation of ecosystems and species. Through the engagement of the private sector, the aim is to mainstream biodiversity in agriculture, a task that requires digital and innovative solutions.

Among the CAP tools is the Agricultural Biodiversity Check (BCA) , which encourages companies to incorporate conservation measures and sustainable use of natural resources in their business models, through a biodiversity action plan.

One of the challenges in the BCA is the monitoring of the measures that companies commit to implement in their action plans. For this reason, the Biodiversity Performance App (BPApp) was created. An application that supports data collection, supports the implementation of measures and generates statistics based on a baseline that reflects the company's progress in its relationship with biodiversity.

Another example of a tool for sustainable management in agrifood value chains is the PineAppapplication, which has been developed by the company Nicoverde and pineapple producers in Costa Rica, with the support of CAP and GIZ. This tool enables better management in the use of inputs for pineapple cultivation by providing relevant information on agrochemicals and biological alternatives, bioinputs, and pests.
