As part of the commitment of the Association Horizonte Positivo to the multidimensional well-being of the country's population, in 2017, the organization took on the task of adapting the Business Multidimensional Poverty Index (IPMe) for Costa Rica, in conjunction with the Oxford Poverty & Human Development Initiative (OPHI) and the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC).
The IPMe is an evolution of the Multidimensional Poverty Index (IPM), which by then was already used by various public institutions in Costa Rica and other countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the aim of identifying and combating poverty.
