Can you imagine a Hub that focuses on innovative solutions to climate challenges in the region?
Well, that is the main idea of the Regional Climate Innovation Hub, which seeks to facilitate and develop public and private innovation that promotes NDC implementation in the region and, thus, establishes for ambitious climate goals in Latin America.
Within the framework of the ACCION Clima project, the Ministry of Environment and Energy of Costa Rica requested the design and implementation of this platform to serve as a catalyst for climate innovation processes at the national level and in the region, and to promote the exchange of experience and innovation processes in climate action with the countries of the region.
As part of the activities, a website and support services for climate innovation will be developed, such as trainings, experience exchanges and specific competitions to experiment and discover innovative solutions.
Some of the expected innovation and knowledge transfer mechanisms are:
- private sector innovation
- social innovation and innovative public policy development
- South-South cooperation
- innovation and science
- regional knowledge exchanges
- knowledge management: catalog of climate innovations
