The GIZ-implemented and IKI-funded Global Project on Mainstreaming Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) ended in February 2023. The project had been up and running since 2015 and has been key to the establishment of the international EbA Community of Practice.

Functioning as a knowledge hub on the topic of EbA, the project has facilitated various spaces for peer-to-peer exchange and learning such as the international EbA Community of Practice Workshops, the EbA Knowledge Days or many webinars, which are now available online on www.adaptationcommunity.net. It furthermore developed several publications on EbA-related topics and offered individual advice and support to its Community of Practice, for instance through its EbA Support Facility.

The project also implemented EbA trainings around the world and recently launched an EbA elearning course together with IUCN and IISD, which is now available free of charge on the global learning platform  www.edX.org.  Finally, the Global Project also managed a community on the website of the partnership initiative PANORAMA - Soluciones  for a healthy planet . After the end of the project, its products will remain available.

The email account eba@giz.de,  will not be managed any longer, but points of contact for the EbA themes on adaptationcommunity.net, PANORAMA and the EbA e-learning course will be given in the autoresponder. The Global Project would like to express its sincere gratitude for the past years and all the joint learning on EbA that was made possible through the international EbA Community of Practice. The experiences and connections made through the project will live on, and the team is excited to see Nature-based Solutions on adaptation grow and develop over the coming years.
