The “Cool Training Trinidad”, a 5-day training for trainers from Trinidad and surrounding Caribbean states was carried out from August 14 to 18, 2023 in Trinidad. The training included theoretical and practical sessions on the application of natural refrigerants for commercial refrigeration systems with a focus on propane (R290).

13 participants from Trinidad and 4 regional RAC trainers from Barbados, Jamaica, St. Lucia and Dominica participated in the training.

The training was conducted by Mr. Reiner Mayers, a professor from the Bundesfachschule Kälte-Klima-Technik (BFS) in Maintal, Germany together with a trainer from the National Ozone Unit Trinidad and Tobago.

In terms of content, the theory covered refrigerant circuit pipes joining and installation methods, as well as leak finding and tightness test activities and the presentation of propane chillers. The practical part covered the application of propane (R290) as refrigerant.

The course content was well presented. As a trainer, teaching material of seminar content over the years, it was very beneficial with resources and new updated content that I will personally put into practices and share with future students.” – Cool Training participant
