A recent study from the Resilient Caribbean Communities (CCR) project assesses the current integration of Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) into national policies and plans, e.g. sectorial policies, environmental planning and governance, climate risk management strategies, and climate change adaptation policies at municipal and other (sub-)national levels in Cuba, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic.

Elaborated by LandNetwork in 2025, the report reviews and evaluates existing governance approaches, institutional frameworks and practical entry points for EbA implementation. By comparing progress and achievements from the three countries, the assessment identifies specific gaps, shortcomings and challenges for EbA integration, and offers numerous sets of specific recommendations to involved government institutions and civil society organisations about how to integrate the EbA approach and implement EbA measures more effectively.

The findings of this study were discussed with stakeholders from each country in December 2025 and have been presented to the technical committee of the Caribbean Biological Corridor (CBC) recently, by March 2026, in order to strengthen EbA integration, regional collaboration and climate resilience across the Caribbean throughout the coming years.
